Nancy Thacker, CSWR, MSEd

I offer traditional, brief and mindfulness based work with individuals, couples and families.  I have been working as a psychotherapist and teacher for the past 14 years.  I was trained at Columbia University and Bank Street Graduate schools, with undergraduate training at Tulane University.  For the past decade I have been working with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which is a combination of eastern and western practices. DBT helps people learn how to control their emotions, instead of having their emotions control them.  It is a clear and comfortable way to address problems with depression, anxiety, addictive behaviors, impulsivity and relationship problems.  I focus post graduate training in helping survivors, people who struggle with learning disabilities, Reactive Attachment Disorder and intimacy issues.  I also provide workshops and seminars to organizations, schools and universities, as well as groups in DBT and Coping Skills.

I am also a glass artist and bead maker, with a strong sense of humor.
